The do-it-yourself beauty movement is swiftly gaining momentum among the young and trend-obsessed (keeping up can get expensive, no?).

At the moment, there are a bevy of tricks that will keep your fingers looking fashionable. Among the most creative? Using Scotch tape to create your own nail art. To get the look, paint nail polish directly onto clear tape, wait for it to dry and snip away! Shapes with straight lines are the easiest to master, so consider cutting strips (which you can overlap to create a plaid effect) or triangles. Paint your nails as usual, allow to dry, and apply your self-made stickums directly to the tops of the nails. Set with a clear top coat.
